I've had to deal with 2 nests so far this year in my yard. Amazed that I did not get stung especially on the first nest as I was right on top of it trimming a shrub. Second one I just happened to notice them flying in and out of the hole while cutting the grass, was just a couple feet away. I hope "third times a charm" does not apply to me in this case. A liberal amount of Sevin dust applied to the opening after dark does the trick for me.

This time of year my bee hives attract a lot of yellow jackets wasps and bald face hornets. They try their best to get in and hang around a lot. The yellow jackets do get in and out of hives, but not the bald face hornets. The yellow jackets are sneaky getting into the hive and stealing honey. The wasps and hornets are so busy trying to find food they leave me alone. I squish over a hundred with my finger ever year. Sometime my hive tool or whatever is around. I have not found the nests yet. I'm sure I have both somewhere on the three acres. I leave the bald face hornets nest alone. To this day not one have tried to sting me. Now the yellow jackets at the nest sites or away from the hive they will sting you for no reason. I don't tolerate yellow jackets.

Here's a fun way to remove yellow jacket nest that's in the ground. Run in real fast and set down 1lb of tannerite on top of hole. You know what to do next. Lol

Lol Funny thing my Sam did that two years ago at my brothers farm. He did wear my bee suite to dig the hole bigger to get more tannerite in the ground. Man did it it work and loud. No pictures. I didn't know what he was doing until I heard and saw it. He was blowing up stuff all day.

I was in the woods today trying to move a big old telephone pole out and I lifted up and moved some real old logs in the way with the tractor and I got busted right below my eye by a bee that came out of a ground nest. Man it hurt bad and it’s real swollen and painful now. Luckily only the one got me and I was able to get the tractor and myself out of there, but there were tons flying around. I went back about ten minutes later and gave them a big dose of won’t sting anymore. They don’t fair well with lots of gasoline and a lighter.
