The wife and I just returned from our annual Northern Michigan fall color/ smoke fish/ outhouse tour of upper Michigan and it was a bloody mess for sure.
This cool weather has put the deer movement into high gear and the highways were littered with dead dear and blood all over the place.
On the bright side we did see quite a few deer in fields along with turkeys.
We saw a hen turkey near Charlevoix that had 3 very young poults in tow.
At leland, Michigan there is a restaurant built on the spillway from Lake Leelanau leading out into Lake Michigan and the King Salmon along with other salmon try jumpimg this dam when they are spawning.
This restaurant called the COVE has underwater cameras at the dam with several monitors in the restaurant so you can watch the fish movement, this is really cool
Every once in a while a fish will jump up onto the deck and emplyees will push them back into the water, the wife and I sat at a window and watched 20+ pound salmon attemptint to jump the dam while we enjoyed fresh Lake Michigan White fisH dinners.

This restaurant is known for a BLOODY MARY made with a smoked chub they call it a CHUBBY MARY a must have if you visit tis place, BTW the food is excellent!
We bought smoked fish from JOHN CROSS fishery in Charlevoix, www.facebook.com/johncrossfisheries/
and apples as well as products made with apples from King's orchards www.facebook.com/KingOrchards/ and of course bakery goods at GRAND TRAVESE PIE COMPANY. gtpie.com/locations/traverse-city-original/
On our way up to Traverse City I took a sand and gravel road that had no homes or businesses oN it for several miles.
On both sides of the road there were 8'high fences that ran for several miles that had NO TRESSPASSING signs every 100 yards.
On the other side of the fence was a bull dozed hill running the entire length of the fence that prevented you from seeing inside.
There was only one private gated entry way, I am quite sure I could not afford to be a member of this group.
Didn't see many ducks and geese except for those bread fed city dwellers.
The leaves are just now hitting peak.
One other thing we did was a Traverse City "EXTERTERRESTRIAL TOUR" which is a 2 mile walk through the streets and ally ways after dark with a very unique guide.
What does the OUT HOUSE have to do with it, well every year I always like to find some lost or litte know OUT HOUSE along the way and this year I found a very clean seldom ever used one at a very remote airport call the WOOLSEY AIRPORT there is only one old building there and a markered airstrip along with these 2 out house. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woolsey_Memorial_Airport
