Last Saturday the wife and I were driving between Napoleon and Osgood when an enormous bird we at first took to be a buzzard was sitting in a field near the road. When we passed we both said "Was that a....." It was a lighter color, perhaps immature. But we are pretty sure what it was. This past Thursday I and another DNR employee were tasked with going to Indy and retrieving a repaired vehicle and picking up some lumber. (All of our vehicles have to go to the Indy maintenance hub for anything beyond a burnt out bulb ) Just past Kent, which is on the way to Scottsburg ( or Austin, one of em) and the 65 on-ramp, a postcard quality Bald Eagle took wing from the edge of the road where it had been snacking on some hapless roadkill. It looked enormous. That brings the total of birds I've ever seen to three. Do you guys see em?

All the time. Saw 3 last week on Crane. 2 flying and 1 eating roadkill.
If you are around a lake or river or pond, there are eagles close by. Osprey are starting to come back now too.

I saw one not too long ago eating on a dead animal in a field. It about caused a traffic pile-up.
That was near Charlestown, probably no more than a mile from the OH river.

We have seen more in the last year than ever before. There were 3 pair circling high above our house this past spring. There's a nest just outside of Patriot, IN.

Quite often here in brown county and definitely a lot around lake Monroe. Our record was 5 different eagles in one day while in the lake. We just saw one in Shelbyville on Friday while driving to the football game in Franklin county.

See eagles often in Daviess County as far back as '95. Saw an osprey on Glendale this spring, but didn't see it any after that.
Saw my first eagle flying over West Boggs before I was out of grade school, so had to be pre-'85ish.

Warrick County- This is in the backyard of a friend of mine. The pond is about 30 feet from the back of his house. This is about a mile from where I hunt. He is snacking on a catfish he got out of the pond.

Seen one perched high on a bare tree on Halloween in NE LaPorte County. It was watching the combines pull out some corn.

I kinda figured it would be one of those deals where you never saw them, and then BOOM they're everywhere.
