OH MY!!
Hopefully the shop has good insurance.
I don’t understand the reasoning of leaving it up? It takes less than a minute to raise it back up.

The owner has done this for over 50 years and said he doesn’t know why he left it up. We’ll see about the insurance, but I have a feeling I’ll get screwed!!

He left it on the lift over the holiday weekend and found it yesterday morning like that. It took a couple wreckers and several of us two hours to get it down.

How bad is the damage?

They tore it up pretty bad getting it down, but they couldn’t help it. There wasn’t much room to get much equipment in there along with a lower ceiling. Every side has body damage all the way around and who knows what is bent. The tranny fluid all ran out the dipstick so you know all the oil and fluids were in places they shouldn’t be.

I’m sure that they’ve had heavier vehicles than a Ranger on that thing. Strange

Here’s what the lock gears look like. The smaller gear on the left was stripped cleaned and smooth and the bigger gear had some broken teeth. My guess is they have been wore out for awhile and it finally went.

If their offer doesn't match KBB, I would want to talk to the adjuster. Also if you have receipts for any recent major improvements/repairs, they should take that into consideration as well.

Most places now days would consider that a near miss and have a safety stand down… all lifts need inspections and a meeting on how we’re gonna prevent this from happening again!
Someone could lost their life or seriously injured

It maybe worth buying from insurance company if the didn’t bend the frame and it low mileage!

It maybe worth buying from insurance company if the didn’t bend the frame and it low mileage! I’m afraid it’s going to be bent the way it was hanging. The body damage alone is going to be expensive!!

If it's just cosmetic damage and not safety, it would add a lot of character and a great conversation piece. My vehicles usually promote a lot of conversation, and snickering. Lol
