Something I find fascinating is that year after year, generation after generation, those old Christmas shows are still a hit. My wife and I pulled up Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and watched it with my 6 YO tonight. She was riveted just like I was when I was her age. She loves Charlie Brown Christmas and the new stuff too like Prep and Landing that we watched with her brothers. It's amazing to me how much they love this stuff. I love watching them watch these old movies, of course it reminds me of my childhood but also makes me ask myself, what do they think of all of this? Pretty cool evening.

Nailed it....I still watch Rudolph even though it is bullying (LOL!!!) Frosty, the Grinch, Charlie Brown and A Christmas Story. I too watch it with my grand daughter. Watching these with her has renewed my sense of Christmas spirit. And yes....it a bat of an eye they are grown.....

True, classics, we watch the oldies with our grandkids as well, even our grown kids come watch them with us before we had grandkids. You mentioned a couple I haven't heard of yet. Guess I will start to hear about the new stuff within a couple years as they age a little more...SF Woody

We never miss watching A Christmas Story. Being a child in the 1940s and early 1950s I can identify with the whole movie.
Yes, all us kids back then want a Daisy Red Ryder Carbine BB gun and most of us had one. There wasn’t a bird safe in our neighborhood.
My first BB gun I earned by selling White Brand Cloverine Salve door to door. I let a friend use it and he shot his brother with it. His mom took it away from him, chopped it up with an axe and threw it down their outside toilet. Dad tried to get her to buy me another one but she flat said nope. I got another one but never loaned that one out.

Enjoy these days as they pass way too fast. Happy Holidays to you and your family. I know what you mean, we have 15 and 13 YO sons who will have nothing to do with any old Christmas cartoon. When we had our daughter 6 years ago I realized I had to slow this one down as much as I could. So far I'm doing pretty good but she wants to be like the big kids, I do my best to keep her as sweet and little as I can. Time will eventually beat me but I can slow it down!
