On a whim, I recently picked up a new muzzleloader for my grandson at Fin Feather Fur Outfitters in Ohio. Their recent sale had the black synthetic and blued barrel for $260 after rebate. I've had my TC Encore since 1997 and he's hunted with that when we were together in a 2 man stand. Now that he's comfortable with the process I figured this was hard to pass up. I'll start with the recommended 2 pellets of White Hots and the 250 gr Smackdown Carnivore sabots. It's a budget ML so I was wondering if anyone here had experience with one.

Read the manual and see what loads they recommend for gun…. They usually recommend something!

Pretty certain his post says he’ll start with the recommended load.

Pretty certain his post says he’ll start with the recommended load. That would be a good choice….

I have two Traditions Pursuit LT 50 caliber muzzleloaders and a T/C Omega. I shoot and use the Traditions more than the more expensive T/C. They have never let me down and are 200 yard deer killers. Mine are both stainless with camo stocks. I don't know what is difference between the Buckstalker LT and the Pursuit LT guns are, but if it is a Traditions gun I'm sure it will do just fine. I use 90 grains of Blackhorn 209 and T/C 250-grain shockwave bullets.
