I have never been much on trading trucks, when I'm done with one, it's pretty well used up. I have only had 4 trucks in 35 years of being licensed,3 Ford,1 Chevy. We had a Dodge Caravan I got rid of after 1 year because it was an absolute lemon, so I'm kinda soured on Dodge. Although I have never owned or driven a Toyota, I have several friends that have them and I have never heard anything bad about them. I might look into one whenever my current truck is "used up". Same here. I keep mine until they rust out and I literally cant do anything with them. Only my recent last Chevy got sold. Pretty much everything else has gone to the boneyard. Had good luck mechanically with Fords and Chevys. Wife has a Toyota Highlander that I will take over as my work ride when she gets something newer. I know several Tundra owners and everybody is super pleased with them.

Interesting how the 2015 Duramax did so well versus the 2019 Duramax. I could imagine you were quite confident going in to that 2019. I'm sure that was quite the letdown. Getting more emissions stringent. So many things must work together in harmony. It's almost setup to fail now. One sensor out of range or false reading, one drop of moisture, one wire pulled tight in a harness, corrosion, etc you name it, and nothing but problems waiting to happen. I see it every day on big trucks. We see the same thing with machinery at work. Machines from 1980's and 90's run till you shut them down. Automated, newer machines are much more finicky, one small problem and everything shuts down. The older machines you could adjust on the fly and have it running smooth. Newer ones can screw up from too much dust on a code reader. Total PIA.

I have heard that the Toyota pickups made in Princeton Indiana are the most "American made" trucks you can get. I know several guys get 300k+ out of them.

I got my Toyota Tacoma in mid 2020 and now has 17k. Averaging about 7.2k per year. That gets me almost 42 years. I guess this will be my last truck if no wrecks. In June, I'll be giving my CC Sport to Sam. Miles per year might go to 10k. So down to around 30 plus years.
