Remind me to get you a hedgehog for a birthday present.
That way you can tell people my kidney stones look like this guy here.

Wow that thing looks painful! I have a .9 mm sitting in my kidney right now, doc said it shouldn't cause any problems where it's at but nothing is impossible. He basically said don't do any head stands as mine is sitting below my ureter tube or whatever it's called (pee pipe?). I've had 2, they are not an enjoyable experience. I'll bet you were glad to get rid of that thing!
Edit: Sorry I mistyped, my stone isn't .9mm it's 9mm or .9 cm. Lol! Sorry 😁

All the men on my dads side are blessed with stones.
My grandfather used to have to go and have them blasted.
One uncle has had them stuck and surgically removed. No thanks!
My first one was 19yrs ago, and required the ER. Pain was so bad, I swear death was imminent. Had to give me morphine to calm me down.
My doc made me go to the hospital for #2 for a confirmation with another catscan. After that, he realized I know the pain and the drill, so he started letting me handle on my own with meds. He now keeps me stocked up, so all is well. This stone makes close to 30 I bet. He even stopped collecting them to be analyzed. Standard run of the mill stones. Most are just a sore back and side, occasional puke, and then a day wait to pass after the pain subsides. This is first one in awhile that hurt like sin.
Just another day at the office. 🙄

I have lost count of my stones. That's something to brag about, ain't it? LOL, I have told people that never have them it's like you have to go "number 1","number 2" and vomit all at once and can't do any of the three!

Ouch ! My buddy had to get flown out of the boundary waters from a canoe trip due to kidney stones, passed it on the flight out.

A guy I grew up with had his first stone in his mid 20s. Fairly often after that.

Just a note of caution on these durn things, my cousin (early 70s) had a stone, became infected and sepsis set in and he passed away.
The last one (1 previously)I had, knew what it was but had to go to the ER. Fairly big and the urologist said I should stay (was not happy) but the next morning they went in to blast it out but found infection so in the end, glad they kept me.

My cocktail of meds is pain, flowmax, and an antibiotic. Last many have had no blood in the urine at all. Lately, most have a hint pain, then come out as sand. The carnivore doc I follow says as your body heals, the stones break up in the kidneys and unfortunately you pass more often until they are gone. True until this one.

Last time I went to the ER with stones, I was there for 3 hours, I left with prescription strength Aleve and $6,000 out of pocket after insurance!

I’m sure glad that they aren’t in my family, don’t sound like much fun.

Same way we lost my grandmother. She passed them often and just toughed it out. That one killed her.
