This guy has been working around the house cutting the right aways for the past two days. He refuels and parks for the night on the farm right behind the house. Pretty cool watching him come and go doing his work. I didn’t get a pic but the last time he flew over our land he was super close and I could count the ten blades on the saw. That’s my barn in that second pic. He’s directly over the house there.

There is a Viet Nam story where a chopper pilot made his own landing zone with his rotors when nothing else was available.

Which was worse? Hitting the ground or driving home with full shorts?

Those cutter are noisy. It makes no sense that he didn't have to time to leave the stand. They cut the 365K high power lines about every 5 or so years. I'm a quarter mile away and I can hear it.

Several years back there was a guy doing the same thing in our area. He would fuel up and leave the helicopter at the farm next to my house. One morning he was still doing some maintenance to the chopper and I stopped to talk to him. I asked if he ever had any close calls or any emergency landings while doing his thing. He told me he has had a few but after doing two tours in the Jolley Greens in Vietnam, trimming trees was a cakewalk. I would have loved to go up with him.
