We all know GW is digging himself a nice political hole right now. My biggest problem right now is the war and the apparent unwillingness to deal with the invasion going on down south. The gas thing would be happening no matter who was in office, and the imaginary "Tax breaks for the wealthy" does not bother me either. ( near 50% taxes, that's a real break, people) Why is it a sin to make money?
While I myself am an independent, I find the Republicans generally less offensive, especially when it comes to social issues, guns, and the outdoors. If there is an anti-gun, anti-hunting, anti-religion bill, idea, or stance, there is always a Democrat behind it. I suppose that you could argue that Democrats are pro-gun and hunter friendly, but I do not see how.
Anyway, Suppose W makes enough people mad that the Democrats take congress AND the White House? Do you think there will be swift consequences for sportsmen? A new, worse "Assault weapons" ban? Limitations on hunting on public lands? Even more encouragement of illegal immigration?
I think some or all of those things are likely. What do you think?

I think you are on target Henderson... I don't think the Dems would be so bold as to put an all out assault on any one item in particular, but the little things that could become laws are slow errosions at many of the shooting sports and all periphrial aspects.

I thought the republicans scored some good points this weekend at both the state and national level.
#1 Daniels fires one of his appointees for inappopriately awarding state contracts, and say's on the news he takes full responsibility.
#2 GW Starts talking about erecting another 850 miles of fence along our 2000 mile border with Mexico.
