Found a mess of these beauties a couple of weeks ago. They were growing on some firewood I have piles up. Also found some Meadow mushrooms in the yard a few days ago.

Sorry RJ, didn't see the your question till just now. Some call them shelf mushrooms. I know you have seen them. They grow on dead trees, the ones I found were on a piece of walnut in my woodpile. And yes they are good to eat.

Here ya go Jim, these are the Angels Wing variety but all oyster or shelf mushrooms ar.e good to eat

Just like you would any others. Good thing is when you find some you usually get a bunch. Look for dead wood either down or standing. Good luck.

HH, The oyster mushrooms are very tender and they are not the hard shelf things you find on trees. They are very tasty.
