Is this white duck legal game and where does it fit in the bag limit? Hen or drake? There is quite a few of these out there this year, if they fly into our spread, are they legal? These are what I would call white mallards. They come from town in the flocks of mallards. They definetly are wild ducks, just wasnt real sure on the rule of them. Havent had the chance to get one yet, but have been looking. But I would say mallard for sure.

You should consider a white duck part of your 6 duck limit. It would not count toward your 4 mallards or 2 woodies or 1 pintail/blackduck. It's a duck in your 6 bird limit. Can't tell you what that joker will taste like, but if you feel that you need to harvest a white duck, go right ahead! ;D

Let me add to this as many white ducks are 'farm' ducks and are not wild ducks, however, there are a number of albino or 'near' albino ducks in our wild population that would count toward your limit. It is quite possible to distinguish a white mallard from a white wigeon or white pintail or white shoveler or white woodie or white can, etc. If the duck is an obvious species of white or near white plumage, it would be considered part of that species and the appropriate bag limit would apply. If it is a FARM DUCK and you are sure it is a farm duck then it would not count toward your bag limit. If it is not a farm duck, but you cannot distinguish it from a mallard or pintail, for example, then it would count toward your 6 duck limit. Clear as mud? ;D
