I have a pack of about 6 coyotes running on the land that I hunt and I see them all the time while hunting. My question is that if I down a deer and I put my temporary tag on it, am I allowed to go back to my truck and retrieve a firearm in case the coyotes show up while field dressing it? This happen last year after I got a buck. I was field dressing him by lantern and the coyotes were no more than 40 yds from me. I didn't like that and I would have felt much better with a gun by my side instead of a bow.
