We have a "raiser of exotic animals" (and I use that term loosely) in our neighborhood. Last year they had three elk escape and this year an elk and a red stag have escaped. Since they are not covered under Indiana law I know it is legal to hunt them, but my question is what methods are legal?
If I am out deer hunting I can take them with whatever method is in season, but if I go out to only look for the exotic is a rifle legal? Is there a way to prove I'm going after an exotic and not poaching deer?
Thanks for taking the time to answer all of our unique questions on this board.

There are covered under Indiana law (as of July '06) and you can not shoot them.
