Hi Mig,
I have a quick question, what is the best way to catch a tresspasser? Pics? Hold them till someone gets there? Thanks for your help!

We can not make a case on someone hunting without consent unless the landowner wants us to file charges......in other words, we need their support. If a landowner does not want us to file on someone, then there isn't much that we can do. I suggest talking to the landowner and have them inform the CO of the problem. Whatever you do.........do not confront the person, and do not "hold" them until we arrive. If you can get photos/videos, license plate numbers, etc....and you can do it discreetly, that helps. If you are the landowner, or you know from past experiences that they will prosecute, then contact a CO. Its best if we can catch them in the act. Unfortunately, more often than not, hunters think that someone is trespassing, they contact us, and when we arrive we find out that the person does have permission, or that the landowner is not interested in prosecuting them. I avoid responding to calls on trespassers unless I know that the landowner will press charges.
