handgun cartridges in rifles

I was at a gun show this weekend and was told that Indiana did pass a law allowing handgun cartridges to be used in rifles to hunt deer. Is this true? I knew it had been proposed, and I thought it had been shot down, but this is the first I had heard that it passed. Any light on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

At this time, I do not know where this issue stands, but it is a good possibility that it will happen b/f next hunting season.
