Waht would be the best way too post your property Against tresspassing. I bought a small piece of property located in NW Ind. Due too the area I need too post it too keep other poeple off. What is the distance between Sign's Does Paint work as markers between signs showing property lines? I dont want too fence the entire area just post the treelines. It seems that the my Neighbors who run their quads thru there feel as if they own it . Chasing off the deer in that area. I willbe also adding too fenced areas for my Horse's. That and they also like too hunt that Piece also without consent. The bottom line is what is the best way too mark your property so you can enforce your rights Leagally as a property owner. Also So All of us know when and if we do cross over lines what should we look for. Many of us have done that by accindent not trying to get around it just know that I have done that. I also left as soon as I realized what I did. When the light came up.

Signs are a great way of posting property lines as long as they are not removed or shot up. However, your property does NOT have to be posted in order for us or another law enf. agency to arrest for hunting/fishing/trapping/collecting fungi, artifacts, ginseng, etc. without landowner's consent. If someone is on your property and you did not give them permission to be there, they can be arrested if that is how you would like for it to be handled. We will be more than happy to enforce that law on your property. But, if you only want them warned not to come back, you are conveying to them that if they are caught, they will only be told to leave and will continue to be a problem. We do not have the time nor the resouces to watch over everyone's property who has problems with trespassers to simply respond only to 'run them off' of the property. It is your call to make in this instance, we will be happy to make the arrest. Word WILL get out that anyone caught on your property will be arrested. As far as property lines are concerned, you can mark them in any manner in which you feel adequately differentiates your property from another. Fences work great but can be expensive and require maintenance. Signs fall off or get removed or shot up. Paint fades and eventually comes off. Metal fences posts work well but need to be repainted on the tops or remarked occassionally. They can be expensive as well. It is your call on how you want to do it. Signs do not have posted at certain distance intervals either.
