Is it legal to call turkeys to aid another hunter in taking one, if, the caller has already harvested his own bird for the season? A fellow at the local check station swore it is illegal to do this. Thanks in advance!

The definition of 'HUNT" is to pursue, shoot, kill, trap, capture, collect, catch, possess or otherwise take or attempt to take. Calling a turkey in for another hunter, in my opinion given the definition, requires one to have a turkey hunting license BECAUSE you are pursuing or assisting a person in attempting to take a wild turkey. If you have already harvested your bird for the season, you would still be allowed to call (assist in taking) a wild turkey under your (already used) license. In essence, you are participating in the 'hunt' in a manner that assists a person in tkaing a wild turkey. So, yes it is legal as long as you have purchased a turkey license/stamp for that year.
