Boat registration?

I just purchased one of these "slightly used" from a member of this forum. For the most part I plan on hunting out of it on private ponds/marshes, but I may fish out of it as well on public water.

Does a boat this size need to be titled/ registered? Or only if I hook a trolling motor or small gas outboard to it?

What if I fish out of it without the assitance of any electric/gas power?

I appreciate any assistance you can offer.

If you fish or hunt out of it on public areas or state waters, you will be required to have a wearable USCG approved PFD on board for each person. Regardless of the size of the boat, if you use it on state or 'public' water, you will be required to regisiter that boat ONLY IF you put an electric or gas motor on it. I recommend picking up a copy of the boating laws found at most BMV's, boat repair/sales places and state DNR properties. Good luck with your new boat. I occassionally hunt and fish from a similar boat. You will love it!
