Was just wondering where the fines for DNR tickets go? Question was asked on another site and I said I would try and get the answer. Thanks.

Great question and glad you asked, to be honest. Out of all the tickets that we write, we (DNR) get $3 from EACH ticket. For example, a ticket in Hamilton County for an insufficient number of personal flotation devices is $285. $109.50 is court costs and the remainder consists of the fine. The bulk of the two goes to the court. Our $3 comes from court costs. That $3/ticket goes into our training fund. If we write 100 tickets, we get $300 for training.
