I have talked with a farmer that has about 900 acres of corn and beans and he has had the deer tearing up alot of his corn and beans and he gave me permission to hunt his property. He says he can get tags from the state to cover the taking of the deer and I have his permission to use them for the purpose of eliminating the deer and the crop damage problem, is this true about the depredation tags? and will it count against my 1 buck allowance?

There are special rules and hunting dates for the depredation permits. The depredation seasons are in effect before any of the hunting seasons, and are stated on the permit itself. You have to be preselected by the permittee prior to the permit being granted and be listed on the permit as a shooter. You can shoot bucks if you like, but i cant understand why you would want to. You cant keep the antlers from any deer taken on a depredation permit anyway. Help him out during the depredation season, and then harvest some antlerless deer during the regular season if you are wanting to do him a favor...IMHO
