I have a rack my Grandfather took back in the early 1930's, used to be mounted but deteriorated so I disassembled. Question is, I would like to get it re-mounted but dont want to be accused of having an illegal deer. I have plenty of old photos to prove its an old rack, anything special I need to do to cover my arse?

No. If for some reason it ever came to question, which I doubt it would, you have a picture. Sounds like you just need to get a new cape and lay out some $$ and you're in business! Hope it turns good out for you.
