I am planning on buying a Bobcat off the enternet that was harvested in a state where it is legal to hunt or trap them. My question is the about the CITES tag, is it the only paperwork I have to make sure I get with the cat and is it even legal for me to buy a CITES tagged Bobcat in Indiana. I want to have the Bobcat mounted and just want to get all my facts straight before I purchase one. Thanks

You only need the CITES tag. The owner of the cat must get the CITES tag as required, prior to shipping or selling or transporting it out of state. Make sure the tag stays with the cat (attached) and you DEFINITELY want to have it in possession after you get the mount back. I would also ask for a written receipt from the seller just to double cover your bases. I killed one a couple of years ago in Texas. Got a CITES tag from a local CO down there and I was good to go.
