Need some suggestions. I know there is Walkers but I want to look at other options. Not looking for the best. Looking for something good at a decent price. Live on HW25 so Delphi and Monticello are not far.

Troy Clark mounted the bucks Dad and I shot around 9 years ago. I believe bggoosekiller had him mount the freak buck he shot that year too. I know Dad and I were happy with the work. Only problem is that Troy now lives up around Fort Wayne. BUT, Troy's dad lives in Lafayette, and when Dad has wanted hides tanned he will take them to Troy's dad and get them to him that way. I have no idea what Troy charges these days, assuming he is still doing taxi work. Get in touch with dadfsr for Troy's father's info if you are interested. Joe Smith is still around, but it'll probably cost you $$$. Dean at Coal Hollow (he's on this site) is in Covington- might be a good excuse to go to the Beef House.

I take mine out to a guy around Burnetsville which isnt too far from Monticello. I live in Logan and takes me maybe 15 minutes or so to get there. Olivers taxidermy is the name. Cost for a full shoulder mount is 300. He does good work, the only downside is that by this time he is likely swamped with deer. It took me almost a year to get mine from last year back. Normally though he takes around 6 months or so at the least.

I have taken my last couple to the guy at burntessville also. His name escapes me at the moment but I am satisfied with his work. But I will probably take my next ones to walkers. You pay just a little more and get a lot more back.

Someone at my Church also recommended Olivers. I called him the other night and will probably go by his place in the next week.

hey brad, before you take it to olivers come by and look at mine he did about 5-6 years ago, eyelid split hide dropped at base of antler plus a few other things, i also have one done by troy clark, it looks like a stuffed deer i have 3 done by walkers and as said before you get what you pay for and i'll pay the extra 65 bucks for walkers, there is a night and day diffrence my 14 year old doughters friends often comment on the realism and the fact that my deer done by walkers seem like they are "looking at them" then they ask why my other 2 look fake.

Your a good salesman. I just called them. I think I am going to take it there. Hey, whats the latest my Dad can bring some meat over to have some sausage made? I haven't been in this year because I bought my own grinder. I did get a hi-mountain sausage making kit and attempted to make my own sausage but I didn't like it. Not sure if I messed something up or not.

Check out Butch Stoops in Mulberry, just a few miles from Lafayette. He has done a ton of stuff for me, well satisfied. I agree with dabutchers opinion on Oliver. Lots of guys around here go to him because he is cheaper than most.

Call Sugar creek taxidermy (317)445-2125. They are located at 8426 N. Water Street Kirklin, IN 46050. They did my 8 point buck I got in 2006 and only charged me $280 and they did an awesome job. Here is a pic so you can see for yourself.
