youth lic needed?

My daughter is 8 years old and has asked to go with my son and I to run our coon hounds. My ? is. Can she still go with us before she has hunters ed. and a youth lic.
She wouldn't have a gun or even a dog, also I dont know if she would even like it. I hate to have her take H.E. if she does like it after she does a time or two. Thanks

If you don't mind waiting for July 1, 2008, you can buy her an apprentice hunting license that exempts her from attending HE for 3 license seasons.
But as long as she is not actively participating in running the dogs, she will be OK without a license.
