I was reading muscrat's thread and he has a lot of questions already covered that I am waiting to see the answers too... Here is one more....Public land is first come first serve correct?? meaning if there is a permament stand erected and I put a climber in the same area say 20 yards apart, then I take presedence if the other person shows up later correct?...The laws on this are not clear enough IMO. And I realize its a common courtesy issue, but there are also alot of people that scout and want to hunt the same areas, so it gets confusing... I think some people out on public land areas feel if they put a stand up they "claim" the area.. That doesnt seem right to us that use climbers... Thanks for the answer

Permanent stands are prohibited on public land in the first place. You might be referring to lock-ons? There are no laws regarding how many people can hunt in a particular public hunting area, provided that it is not a draw hunt. You can hang 10 stands within 10 yards of one another and no violation will have occurred.
