Does the youth hunter have to be in my sight for deer hunting? Son is 15 and wants to be on his own. I feel he is capable and safe enough. I will be in the woods with him and in radio contact, just out of sight. Sorry for the late question. Steve

The only supervisory limitations are on youth hunters during YOUTH SEASONS and for those hunting with an APPRENTICE hunting license. Both must be accompanied by an adult 18 YO or older. IMHO accompanied means being within very close proximity and within visual and communicable sight (without a radio). This does not apply to youth hunters with a youth hunting license hunting during the regular season. That call is up to the parent or guardian of the hunter.
