me and my husband hunt his dad's land outside of seymor indiana we have been having allot of problems with people hunting our property without premission. especialy from a guy that used to farm our land. had a whole big falling out because he said he was going to gate us off of the property so we couldn't hunt it so we wouldn't allow him to return. now he leased my aunts land that is right up agaist ours. he keeps trying to say that the land that is ours belongs to my aunt and we are constantly finding signs that he has been on our land when we are not there. is there anything we can do. we're really upset about this since while we were out opening day this year we found an 12 point buck that someone had just killed and left lay where it droped in the center of our land. the land is marked no treaspassing and all but they just wont listen.

This is going to be difficult unless you have the time to spend watching over the property, waiting for this guy to return. My suggestion is to find a neighbor or someone that lives within close proximty to the property to keep a close watch on it for you and for them to contact us when someone is spotted on the property. The only other viable option would be to let someone who lives closeby or the local CO or other LE officer hunt the property. Many landowners around the state have granted us permission so that we can keep a closer eye on their property and arrest the trespassers that they cannot seem to cross paths with. Sometimes all it takes is our vehicle being parked there while hunting. Others learn the hard way and find that a hefty fine or money spent on bail is a greater deterrent than chancing it. Your call on which way to go. Might try talking with your aunt or finding someone else to pay her more for the lease so that this guy does not get it again next year.
