I usually put corn out this time of year at the edge of my yard to hopefully get some does back in the area and just to be able to watch them. Last night I had a gray fox standing in the corn pile for a while and I was wondering if shooting him would have been illegal... I never thought predators would eat corn so would it still be considered baiting? Kinda like putting a steak on the ground and hoping to shoot a deer over it...
Thanks

Hunting for predators over bait is legal in Indiana. However, I would recommend that you shy away from hunting coyotes or gray foxes over corn during deer season. ***For those who like to read too far into the answers, IT IS STILL ILLEGAL TO HUNT DEER, TURKEY, WATERFOWL, MIGRATORY GAMEBIRDS, ETC. over, near or with the aid of BAIT!
