Does a dead deer have to go to the check station? I saw this comment elsewhere on this forum:
"I live about a mile from my check in station and yesterday I didn't want to mess with loading my doe back up in that cold so I just took my tag down there and checked it in and the deer never left my garage. "

Indiana Administrative Code 312 IAC 9-3-2 (i) A person who takes a deer must cause delivery of the deer carcass to an official checking station for registration on the occurrence of the earlier of the following: (1) Within forty-eight (48) hours of the taking of the deer. (2) Before the deer is removed from this state.
