Is it legal to kill snakes in IN as long as they are not on the endangered list, like black snakes or garter snakes?

Yes, but keep in mind they are where you find them for a reason....usually due to a heavy population of mice, rats, voles, and other snake 'edibles'. Pick you poison carefully!
