Hi, I am new to deer hunting. This will be my first year and I want to do everything right and have a good time. I am interested in hunting with a rifle verse a shotgun. I am not a gun person so I don't know alot about them. So my question is this. What type of rifle is legal for hunting deer. Also I know some guns are single shot and some have clips, others are multi shot. What is legal and what is not. Thanks.

Rifles with cartridges that fire a bullet of .357 inch diameter or larger; have a min. case length of 1.16 inches and max case length of 1.625 inches are legal to use only during the deer firearms season. For additional information, see page 9 of the 2009-2010 IN hunting guide.
