A friend sent me this picture. A friend of his has a camera set up to scout for deer. Here is a pic he got not long ago I don't know the exact location but I do know it's in the southern half of the state, i'll get more details and post that later

Have a friend who trapped one winter before last in Sullivan County. He had to call the GW and they took it. It was the second one that had been taken in a trap in that area in two years. Friend just told me there had been more people seeing them. Can't wait till I get to see my first one while sitting in my tree stand.

I know for a fact they are all over Indiana I don't have the exact numbers fo accidental captures but I had all that info from a few years ago
Keep reporting all this to the Co's and DNR office and we might get a season yet.

It's great to see those Indiana cats. I saw my first cat ever last spring while turkey hunting in Parke County. I'd been working a gobbler for over an hour, and after he walked off I'd walked into the area he was gobbling from. I heard a rustling noise from the bottom of the ridge and saw a bobcat scurry up the ridge adjacent to the ridge I was on. Took me a second to figure out what it was. I'd seen tracks in this same area three or four years ago, but never a complete cat.

I guess they are spreading. An interesting story. About 6 years ago I saw one twice here in Parke County. I called a guy at the DNR in Indy that tracks them and he told me that they had been tracking a radio-collared one in the area close to my house. He said it came up from southern Indiana, crossed I-70 in Putnam County, then turned west toward us. Then they lost the signal. I saw it at night crossing the road but could not notice a collar.
If you go the DNR page map on Bobcat sightings, there is one star in Parke County, right on top of my house!

The elusive cat is making a strong comeback, seen tracks that appear to be bobcat where I hunt, but no cat sighting yet.

Great pic, thanks for sharing.
My buddy swears he heard one the other morning while sitting in his treestand waiting for daybreak. He said he heard something scream out (squirrel or rabbit?) and then a bunch of growling. I said it was probably some coons fighting or something but he swears it was a bobcat after doing some reseach on the net. Who knows?
