yes, but like Decatur said not recommended at all. At that range you need more power......223, 243, etc.

Sure it will. But if your gonna use a .22 on coyotes they would have to be close and it would have to be a head shot. Would be a challenge for sure. I would not chance a body shot with a .22 though, just not enough killin power to make a clean instant kill on anything the size of a Coyote. But, if you think you can get em in close enough for a head shot...go for it.

with a body shot you would need to hit the lungs and heart, I have done it with luck but did not find him for 2 weeks and it was already to far gone, but it was one less deer killing yote!

shoot it in the neck and it wont move. shoot a hollow point and you should be fine out to 100 if its sighted in for that. i have the 17 hmr and people told me the same thing about it that it wouldnt kill a coyote until i proved to one of them when i shot one at 235 yards in the neck.

Prefect shot placement is what we all strive for but we don't always achieve, I guess my personal thinking is: I will use a caliber that will humanely kill my prey even without a prefect shot placement.

i wouldnt recommend it either. Ive seen em killed with .22s but also seen alot just soak it up and run off. If i was you either go with a different rifle or just use a shotgun with a slug and get yourself comfortable with the gun. We usually take a rifle with us and a shotgun, you can get em close enough to shoot with a shotgun no problem usually just gotta be alittle more prepared and less movement. Closer they are the easier it is to bust you so if your hunting with a shotgun you always gotta be setup and ready to just rotate a little and pull the trigger. I myself also use #4 buckshot if my shotgun if i dont take my .270 with me. But good luck this season
