Savage Model 10FP .223 w/ 20 barrel BSA 4-16 x 40mm Mil Dot scope w/ lighted reticle Choate Ultra Varmint Stock w/ Harris Bipod I just recently took up Coyote hunting and this is what Ill be using. You guys think I made a good choice? I picked up this used rig after work today. I figured its ugly as sin but it oughtta get the job done. ;D

Looks a little better now after I stripped the old camo job off. Was going to do a re-paint on it, but I'm leaning towards leaving it all black now, that way I can change the camo according to the seasons by using strips of fabric in camo/white/etc,etc....to suit the surroundings better. One more pic and I promise I wont make you guys look at this ugly thing again. ;D

Looks Great. Remember Pretty and Beauty are two different things. If it does the job well than it a beautiful gun. Keep us posted.

wolfflight...I have a cousin in Decatur Co. (Greensburg) who hunts coyote, hes not havin much luck around his area. Are you looking for hunting buddies or are you a land owner with a coyote problem? Either way...I can see if hes lookin for some new areas to hunt coyotes.

Im finding out that this style of stock is not ideal for coyote hunting. It's awful heavy, and not easy to reposition the rifle/sticks if you need to do so. Something lighter with a thinner forearm would be better, but I can manage for now. Might try to do a trade later on or shop around for a different stock once X-mas is over.
