I been hunting in Southern Indiana now and this is my 2nd year coyote hunting. I was wondering if the Cass Creek Predator call is proficient for coyote hunting and how far does it reach out? I ask because this year I can't get 1 coyote to even answer the call unless I'm within a 200 yard range. It just seems louder in a store than in the woods. Anyone have any luck with this call?

I have just taken up coyote hunting myself, and have one of the Cass Creek Predator calls. While I havent had any response to the calls, even in a known coyote haven...I cant really say its the calls fault. I have only been out twice, and both time my boys went with me. They last about 15 -20 minutes and then start to get fidgety. So, my lack of luck could be a couple fidgety kids. The call seems loud enough, but then again I have no experience with hand calls yet either so my opinion on it might not be worth much. I have heard from a couple local guys who hunt coyotes alot that they use them as well and have had luck with them, especially when coupled with a moving decoy.

i purchased one when i first started and as you said they gotta be with in a couple hundred yards which is actually a decent range the price of the call. Also flatlander i usually only stay in a spot for about 20 minutes tops. Because 90% of the time if there is a dog in the area that is going to come into the call is usually gonna be in site within just a few minutes. If their hungry their gonna come running like a freight train and the 15-20 minutes allows for the doogs that are further out to come in. You might give hunting at first light at your best spot a shot and see if you have any luck.
