I planned on being out and settled in before daylight this morning but, I didnt get out and settled in until 8:30, well after daylight. Started off with a locator howl but got no response. After several minutes I switched over to a cottontail distress, really worked it over good for 2-3 minutes then sat for 15 minutes and repeated. Did this for an hour. Then I tried a pup distress but, still nothing. Packed it up after about an hour and a half total. I would have liked to try another location or two but had other obligations today. The area I was in is a known coyote haven, with no hunting pressure. Sign everywhere. You guys think I got busted before I ever sat down? Or was I too late in getting out this time of year?
