Just to learn more about the people on this site. What is your favorite way to hunt and what is your favorite game. Personally after trying alot of different way to hunt whitetail including xbow which I love my favorite is watching a well traveled area with my Beretta Pintail slug gun. We can use rifles in parts of Ontario and I have used them to take deer. That 12 gauge slug though is very efficent. I have never had to track any deer I have ever shot with my slug gun. And i've shot them out to 150 yards. There have been some that where spined but most where heart lung. As for game moose hunting is an absolute blast. Never got one but I did call one into 60 yards, not close enough for xbow. Even though I never had a shot I shoke harder then than after any deer I ever got. Having a 800 - 1200 lbs. animal in full rut looking for that pretty sounding cow and all you have to stop it is a sharp stick is very exciting. I like to thick of it as the origional extreme sport.

Favorite method...... my passion has always been archery . I've fooled with recurves , compounds and now crossbows . A second place would have to be muzzleloaders .
Favorite game animal.... guess I would have to list two. Whitetailed deer and wild turkey . I've done these two in several states over the years and never got tired of hunting them . Bears have intrigued me hear of late . I was up north of Kenora , Ontario last year fishing . I got the bug to bowhunt bears . I backed out of a trip this year but I'm thinking real hard about booking for next year . I really wouldnt turn down a chance to hunt moose or caribou either . I think its safe to say us Kentucky boys wouldnt cull a chance to hunt anything different .

Archery, Muzzleloader, shotgun, deer, turkey, quail, pheasants, squirrel.......never really attempted "waterfowl".....but that may be because I have never really tasted a "good duck".

I mostly muzzleloader hunt , with crossbow in the late season , but this archery thing is starting to grow on me more now that I can do it in both archery seasons . I didn't have a vert bow before last year , and what with moving into the new house I barely got to take it out .

I prefer archery hunting over anything else. That includes whitetails, mule deer, elk, black bear, fallow, turkey, and pronghorn.
That used to be recurves and compounds and now it is a crossbow.
90% of my archery/sluggun/ muzzleloader deer hunting is done from a treestand.

Still hunting with a recurve in my hand.
I hunt from the ground probably 95% of the time. Nothing like being eye to eye at close range.

My version of "true blue hunting" involves being in the mountains or western plains with a centerfire rifle. Hunting around here with shotguns, bows, etc., beats not hunting, but it basically just tides me over until I can get back out to some rugged, wide open, mountain or plains country again.
There are lots of fun critters to hunt, but I'd have to rank mule deer as my favorite.
Sheep hunting has to be about the most "fair chase" hunting available, however the degree of physical difficulty can take some of the fun out of it.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Never have hunted anywhere other than Ontario. Not sayig we have it all but it is a very large province that has a very diverse range of croplands in the south, mixed forest in the central, and vast pines in the north. A great place to hunt or fish. One thing I admire about American hunters is you guys seem alot more willing to travel to hunt.

Favorite would be bow hunting. Tree stands and my double bull blind. Once deer season is over then bring on the coyotes. Once spring gets here then its bowhunting turkeys. Summer break begins then before you know it its chasin' squirrels with a Smith & Wesson Model 22A, Maybe a few doves around the 1st. of Sept. Then before you know it I'm bowhunting deer again. Oh, yeah and now turkeys Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Indiana needs to have something to hunt during June and July. ;D Maybe I need to try crows.

Hello Fellas..
My favorite method is hunting from a treestand and I really like bowhunting. I have been bowhunting since 1964. I also hunt with muzzleloader and sometimes my ol' 12 ga. Winchester. I hunt from October 1 completely through the late season in January.
I enjoy deer hunting so much I suppose I would even throw rocks at 'em if we had a season for that too.
I even enjoy taking my digital camera or video camera with me. Nothing beats taking photos of deer standing directly under the treestand. Being an outdoor writer, I use many of the photos with my articles.
Just being out there enjoying the peace and serenity seeing Mother Nature and God's creations that SO many other people miss out on is something very close to my heart.. Taking a deer is fun but NOT everything..
GOOD HUNTING

Getting in my tree stand EARLY. Love those nice clear mornings where you can watch the satelites as they move across the sky. Strain to hear any sounds and try to figure out what made it. Feel the heart start pounding as I hear that familiar sound of deer walking through the dry leaves and hear the popping as they munch on acorns and hope they are still there when it gets light enough to see. Hear the click click clack of a group of bachelor bucks move through sparring with each other. So I guess it is sitting in a tree stand for me.
