How many out there are mainly wanting to fill their fall turkey tag during the 20-some days the season is in? AND...How many hunters will not shoot a Tom only?
I will hunt for a Tom until I get him or he gets me....(AKA- season runs out) : ) Of course I might fit in a hunt or two for freezer meat, thanks to our state making bonus tags legal during early archery season. Come the end of October, I'll be hunting horns from that time until the last day of teh second archery season.

Ill bowhunt them as a side to deer hunting.
Fisrt one within range, hen or gobbler, will get shot.
There are way too many hens in my area.

I have 5 Tom spotted, and know there daily travel habits, First even in the old pop-up blind. Hope for a shot at about 20 yards when they come out in the hay field to feed.

hornzilla....You lucky dog. You are a lot farther ahead of the game than I am. I would be grinning from ear to ear if I had 1 tom figured out. Oh well, I'm going the "figure 'em out as I go" route this year. Should prove to be interesting since I will only have Saturday mornings and Sundays before church. Best of luck to all of you!!! Hopefully one of us will have a limb hanger before the season is over.

I will probably target turkeys in the mornings for the first two weekends because I don't have a really good morning stand for deer in the early part of the season. Other than that deer are my main focus. I will take the first bird that gives me a chance, hen or tom.

I wouldn't have to target them too hard...took this picture last week. Was cutting a lane to a treestand, got back to the barn and saw these 5 boys.... But Elkhart is not a fall county...so I'll have to scoot next door to LaGrange county and take one off my buddy's property! ;D Definitely a couple shooters in this bunch though....maybe next spring.
