OK - well I just wanted to lend my 2¢ to anyone thinking about trying bowfishing for the first time - DON'T DO IT!!!!!!That IS unless you are ready to go spend some money on reels, AND perhaps (God forbid!) a BOAT!!! ;D I got to go for the very first time Friday evening & was also fortunate enough to be able to take my youngest son as well!! A HUGE thanks to Mike (Birddog_Mike) & his buddy Tim for the GREAT time & hospitality!! Can't WAIT to go again...DESPITE not getting home until 6:00AM (which for a 'NEARLY' old man was pretty rough !)!!

It was an absolute BLAST...and it made it even better that Jacob was there!! He had a ball too - wanted to go to Bass Pro & look at bowfishing reels the next day! ;D I will admit that I HAVE been perusing Craigslist for an old bow!!

BTW - to any of you die hard bowfishers out there....do you think that a 20' or 22' pontoon boat would make a good platform to build a bowfishing boat on? How well would a pontoon do on a river (i.e. the Ohio)?! JUST curious.....!!! ;D

CHEAP! ;D
No, really just looking for an old bow that I can set up just for bowfishing....one that I don't care as much if it happens to fall overboard (with OR without me!) one night! I actually found a couple on CL for $40-$50 & am hoping to go look at them today after work.

for your pontoon question im not sure of it being on a river or not but on the BAA website there is a team that uses one and they seem to do very well off of it but i cant remember their team name. and for the bow my choice would be to go with a recurve. ebay has some good bows for sale now and then. but that is all just my 2 cents...
