Would it be legal to finish off a wounded deer with a knife, by slicing an artery or the throat? Especially during archery season, after tracking wounded deer, we find some slowly bleeding to death. And when you find it, often it's after legal hunting hours, so a follow-up shot could be illegal also. I hate to see deer suffer needlessly. Also, my brother once emptied his quiver at a doe feeding underneath his stand and wondered if he could leap on it with a big sheath knife. Would that be legal?

Using a knife to finish off a mortally wounded deer from an arrow or bullet wound is legal. Hunting them "Rambo-style" is illegal, and not a real smart thing to try. Maybe your brother should spend some time shooting at a target first.......
