We had a yardgae guessing contest in which Big John donated a double ladder stand as a prize. A Rinehart target was set out in a picked bean field and each youth came up to the line and guessed the yardage. No one knew what the yardage was until after all guessed and Big John ranged it. He ranged it at 34 yards. Again, the lady hunters shined... Stephanie and Margaret guessed at 36 and 32 yards respectively. Both were just two yards off. The target was reset and they guessed again. This time Stephanie guessed it right on the money at 25 yards. Margaret was only off 4 yards. Stephanie took home a new double ladder stand. She said she had just the place to put it and she might even let Firstwd hunt out of it once in awhile.. Thanks to Big John for donating the prize and putting on the contest..

It was my pleasure Woody. Anything for the kids!
I'm already dreaming up big ideas for next years contest. Got two in the works...One will be a longbow shooting contest....the other is a secret. It will not be disclosed until the time it happens. That's all I got to say about that one!
Stephanie I hope you do put that stand to good use. Send us a picture of the deer you take out of it. Good Job!

We have a 10 yard wide finger woods between an upper and lower field inlet on the back of the farm that this will be going in. She is very excited for opening day of gun season. She's help put double stands up before, so she knows there's a little work ahead, but she's ready.
Thanks again.
