2 points...
1. Seems like the poll is pretty clear as to what people on this forum think.
2. If people want antler restrictions on private property they can do so right now. Why people continue to want the government to babysit their whims is beyond me.

jjas well said. We manage our property. I DO NOT want the state to micro manage the deer herd.

IMHO, it boils down to how much land you control. Most people don't control enough ground in IN to make restrictions work so they have to enlist the law to do it for them.

Most people I know who hunt deer pass young bucks on a regular basis. If the state wanted to pass one law that would help that situation....they should make the gun tags either sex. That license dooms more young bucks to death than anything else.

Michigan has antler restrictions for years but they also allow two bucks, second one has to have 4 points or better on one side.
Why are some people trying to protect the bucks anyway? Aren't most hunters in the woods to kill a buck? So why are hunters trying to keep other hunters from killing bucks? Is it so they can have more to look at?
Lets add crossbows to all archery and leave the rest of the regs alone. Then in 5 years take a look at the numbers and adjust if necessary. h.h.

I could live with antler restrictions a lot easier than I can live with ultra short seasons and some of the other proposals being tossed about. Most hunters sorta hunt with antler restrictions anyway it just isn't "mandated". I've hunted in places and states with antler restrictions and it isn't so bad, people need to be looking before shooting anyway.
