I am wanting to get a good .223 for coyote hunting but do not have a bunch to spend on one. What would be a good rifle for the least amount of money?

H and R single shots are good shooters. Not a real precision gun but will definitely shoot well.

Fullrut, I have a .243 in the H and R and I have a hard time getting it to shoot well. I know they have a barrel program where you can send in the frame and get a .223 for that stock. Do you think this would be a good way to go?

Big gun show in Indy in March. Might be able to find something all set up with a scope and everything, ready to go.

You may want to try a Remington 700 SPS. Check Dick's sporting goods they sometimes run specials on them. Another option would be a Savage. They are about the cheapest priced, yet quality bolt rifles you can find. Most guys have good luck with accuracy from the newer Savage rifles.

I have heard pretty decent reviews of the Savage Axis in .223 and the T/C Venture is not a lot more and are really good shooting rifles.

Gander Mountain was/is(?) running a special on the Remington 700 SPS Varmint with a scope for $649.99. www.gandermountain.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?r=view&i=GM420176

Remington 700. The original military sniper rifle from the 1940's. Very accurate. Reasonably priced.

Good luck if u want a good rifle you got to pay the cash... Put it in layaway at Gander Mountain..I bought a Savage predator hunter 22/250 for 699.99 with Nikon scope.. Took me three months to pay for it in layaway... It was worth he wait... U buy cheap junk you won be happy.. Spend he money up front and be done with it.
