Our regulations state gar may be taken by bow does that include alligator gar. I know ky is trying to protect them as they introduce them the last couple years but curious if I come acrossed one legal or not if I'm on the Ohio river or other Indiana water.

Don't get me wrong I would love to be one and done with alligator gar dry fired on a 7 foot in Oklahoma haven't got one yet. It's on my list

It does NOT include Alligator Gar. Alligator Gar are the Genus Atractosteus. The gar referred to in INdiana statute is a gar with the Genus Lepisosteus. The administrative code is posted below.

312 IAC 9-6-1 Definitions pertaining to fish and fishing activities
(38) "Gar" means the genus Lepisosteus
