My uncle and I used to run them with dogs and we had caught a couple that were black with a white chest blaze and we had also caught one that was totally white without being albino. They are out there, not plentiful, but they are there.

Guy here at work asked me if if could be a painter. I told him I wasn't sure what a painter was. I am thinking it's a cat but I couldn't think of the actual name for it. Can anyone help me? I know what I saw and it was a yote for sure. But am trying to figure out what my friends brother was talking about. BB

Although they very rare there are black color phase coyotes. Just like any othe animal. I saw a road killed black raccoon a couple years ago. . If I had got to him sooner ( before he stunk) I would have taken him to the taxidermist.

Don't lie Woody we know it would have been dinner first... LOL... J/K I've seen some pictures of some black yotes and think a guy on here got one a couple years ago if memory serves me. But this was just the first one I've seen in the wild. Now I just have to get permision to set up shot in that area... BB

A few days after turkey season was over I was getting my blind out of the woods, talking to the landowner on the phone. Something ran across the opening to the field, and I had to get off the phone quick and run to the field to see what it was. I could have swore that I saw 2 wild boars run by. I got to the field just in time to see 2 very dark, almost black 'yotes running away, not a lick of hair on their tails, ears up and loping along.
When they ran by, I got a 1/2 second glimpse of something with pointy ears, almost black, no tail and a mouth that was sorta long and partly open. I could have sworn it was two smaller wild boars running by.
I had to call the landowner back and explain why I hung up on him right after saying " What the he.. was THAT? Gotta go." click.... ;D
I think the FoxPro is going to get some use this Fall after they prime up.

I saw a couple of Black coyotes near Sheridan Indiana. A picture of an albino coyote is in the current issue of Predator magazine sighted in Pennsylvania.
