HI, i am currently a student at Purdue and I was wondering if it is legal to go to a public boat ramp and then walk out into the wabash river and wait for geese and ducks to fly over. Because from my understanding the river is fair game as long as I am not on someones property. Thanks

You are correct. However, if you look at the statute or administrative code below, you cannot discharge a firearm within 200 feet of a boat ramp and other locations. Please review the rule below and let me know if you have questions.
312 IAC 8-2-3 Firearms, hunting, and trapping (5) In the lawful pursuit of wild animals. The exception provided in this subdivision does not apply within two hundred (200) feet of any of the following: (A) A campsite. (B) A boat dock. (C) A launching ramp. (D) A picnic area. (E) A bridge.
