Well, the kid and his uncle got a late start. We boated into the honey hole right at shooting time. Hurried up and set-up a quick spread. Was lots of fog coming off the water. Blue-bird day about to unfold. Started working on birds instantly. But, unfortunately the kid was not on his game this morning and only managed to drop 1 duck. Several shots were presented, just no connections. Then had a pair of geese come in and cirlce us about 4 times before landing about 100 yards to the side of us. Told the kid to sit and be patient, they will swim over here. Sure enough, we let him take 1 at 30 yards, and the other got back off the water. It started to circle back to us, but was interupted by our neighbor who did a little sky blasting. O-well,, let the kids shoot...... Checked on my honey hole for next weekend. Had about 70-80 ducks sitting there and another 70-80 sitting about 200 yards away. It looks very , very promising for me next weekend. ;D ;D ;D. Gonna give the kid another shot at them tomorrow.

Great pics! a friend and I took a youth out- his buddy's son. My boy did not get to go due to grade issues(hey I'm a teacher- gotta put the ahmmer down). We saw lots of birds, 20 woodies or so that I'd have gotten a shot or two off at, The boy did get to warmup his gun at a goose. a few feathers flew, but the bird flew off unscathed. We gave the boy a tour of the lake, and he's all excited for next weekend. Problem is, The two of us now have 4 boys we've corrupted into duck hunters. We need a bigger boat and a bigger shooting area!
