Is there any state law that a conservation officer would be enforcing to prohibit archery hunting within the city limits of Evansville? I understand there may be city ordinances that an EPD officer could enforce.
There is a story going around that a CO told a hunter last week that he could not hunt a certain property because it is within so many yards of the city limits. These areas are bean fields and woods and not in the middle of any housing developments.
Thanks.

Our officers primarily enforce state statutes. However, as a courtesy, they would advise a hunter that he was within city limits. The ordinance would apply whether it was a housing division or a bean field based on the city ordinance. I would be upset if I was hunting in an area that an ordinance restricted and an officer did not inform me (if he knew) and then I received a citation from a city officer.
