What a weekend. Didnt have much good "duck weather", but was great to watch the sunrise on THE RIVER again. Blue skies both days. First day we had the neighbor incidents. This morning we moved our location. Hunted in the fast water on the up side of and island. 1 min till we had birds swimming in the dekes 15' in front of the boat. Let him swim away. Then for about the first 20 mins we had plenty of action, just couldnt get them in the right location for shots. Had atleast 10 mallards swim into our spread. If we would have wanted them, we could have limited on swimmers in the first 10 mins. Hoping for a decent shoot we held off. Then it got good and light and bam!! it shut off. Ended with 3 mallards on the float back to the ramp. Was lots of birds flying in the area though. Looks like we are in for a good season!!! Total for the weekend is 7 mallards.
